The Right Way to Spray
Before you use NASONEX® for the first time, shake well and remove the cap. Then pump the bottle 10 times orĀ until a mist appears. Do not spray NASONEX® in your eyes. Then, each time you use NASONEX®, follow these 4 steps:
-
Each time you use NASONEX®, shake well and remove the cap. Blow your nose then use your finger to close off one of your nostrils. Remember: if you haven't used NASONEX® for more than a week, before using, pump the bottle 2 times or until a mist appears.
-
Tilt your head forward slightly and insert the tip of the bottle upright. It is important that you don't spray directly onto the wall between your two nostrils.
-
With your thumb supporting the bottom of the bottle, press down on the white applicator with two fingers. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat this step for each spray your doctor prescribed.
-
Repeat these steps with your other nostril. Then clean the tip with a tissue, replace the cap, and store at room temperature away from light.
How do you know when to get a refill?
Your NASONEX® bottle should be discarded after 120 sprays (usually about 30 days of regular use), even if there is still some liquid in the bottle.
